Close to the End of the Year Recap
It’s been a very busy few months since I blogged last! We adopted 3 puppies (boy brothers!) from the same litter from a local shelter in August. I love having a dog at home since I grew up with dogs my whole life, and after an almost 2 year break of not having a dog and working alone, I was itching for the love and companionship of a pup… so we went to the shelter for 2 and left with 3. OOPS lol. November was the second busiest month out of my year in terms of business, and it was also jam packed with family visits and fun. Running a business during the holiday while making time for my loved ones has always been a whirlwind. I often feel like a chicken with its head cut off because I have to juggle so much but I always remind myself that being busy can be FUN and that I choose this entrepreneur lifestyle. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I especially am reminded that my clients are the absolute BOMB.COM because they’re so kind to me and patient with me during the holidays.
December has only begun but I feel it will be busier than November, especially because I’m also preparing for January’s Bird Trouble’s American Southwest Tour. I’m driving the mini bus by myself to Palm Springs, California for Paradise Road Show! It’s been a dream of mine to hit the road in an RV with Bird Trouble… and after buying the bus in October, I asked myself - what am I waiting for? And well, I wont be alone, I’ll be with Charlie! He’s the pup with the ears that stick up in the group pup photo. He’s the most defiant out of my boys but he’s so fun and sassy. To make the most out of my trip and being away from Midwest winter, I’m also scheduling pop ups at small business retailers / hotels in Joshua Tree, CA - Phoenix, Arizona - Bisbee, Arizona - Santa Fe, New Mexico. I haven’t spent time New Mexico EVER so I’m very excited about that… I have a feeling I’m going to love the culture, the starry nights, and the nature. I’m packing up the mini bus with ALL my Bird Trouble inventory and a some scraps so that I can do a few DIY workshops during my pop ups. It’s really starting to feel real! I just finished booking my AAA, all of my campsites, and my airbnbs. I’m mostly camping but I did book one airbnb so that will feel like a treat, and I’m also staying with my high school friend during the trip which will make my heart full.
I’ll update you all more on the American Southwest Tour soon! I’m confirming 2 of my pop ups and as soon as those are solid - I’ll share a full schedule with ya’ll. I hope to see a lot of my clients on the road and I hope to meet some new ones, and to share my love for my brand, my craft, and adventure! Life is too short, LIVE IT UP YA’LL.
Happiest holidays to you all. My love for you is grand.
Best, Alexz
